Briarfield Health Care Centers offers various services including care levels from hands-on assistance with activities of daily living to more compl exnursing care involving IV therapy, comprehensive wound care and pain management. Medical services are provided under the direction of a licensed physician and carried out by registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. State tested nursing assistants provide hands-on care under the direction and supervision of the nursing staff.
An in-house staff of professional therapists provides rehabilitation services. Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies treat both individually and as a team. A team of restorative nursing assistants under the direction of a licensed nurse provides exercises and training to help resident maintain skills necessary for maximum independence.
Meals are prepared under the direction and supervision of a licensed dietician and a dietary manager. A variety of planned activities are also available daily and include one-to-one room visits and small group activities and entertainment.
Following admission to one of Briarfield's Health Care Centers, representatives from each department meet with families and patients in a care conference to discuss goals and care needs. Members of the social service staff are available to arrange post discharge services. Also, individual case management is available for those who are covered by insurance and HMO's.
With all of that, a number of additional services are available for residents including psychological counseling, dental care and podiatry care. Audiology services, x-ray and orthotics are also available on-site.
